SECURITY RECORDERS

Security Recorders are the heart of any surveillance system. Their basic function is recording and archiving video files - but they also do a lot more.

Types of Recorders

Network Video Recorders (NVRs)

A Network Video Recorder (NVR) is used with wired IP security cameras. They have built-in Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) ports for a simple single cable camera connection. 8, 16, and 32 channel models are available.

Digital Video Recorders (DVRs)

A Digital Video Recorder (DVR) is designed for wired analog security cameras. They use siamese BNC cabling for a flexible and easy camera connection. Lorex DVRs come in 8 and 16 channel options.

Lorex Smart Home Security Center

The Lorex Smart Home Security Center serves as a secondary back-up to the on-board recording that Wi-Fi products use. This ensures that, even if your Wi-Fi camera is disabled or the microSD card is compromised, there will still be a back-up of the data.

Lorex Home Hub

The Lorex Home Hub works exclusively with 2K Wire-Free Security Cameras. Wire-Free cameras transmit data to the Hub for storage. All viewing, settings and customizations are done through the mobile app (no monitor output).

Wire-Free DVR

Works with specific Wire-Free Security Cameras that wirelessly transmit data to DVR for storage. This DVR will typically come pre-paired with wire-free cameras and is not sold separately. It includes an HDMI output to connect to the monitor interface where you can access advanced system settings.

Recorder Features

All Lorex security recorders are engineered with cutting-edge technology to ensure maximum reliability and high quality performance. Here are a few things that they can do:

Motion Detection

Security recorders either detect motion themselves (NVRs / DVRs) or are told by the cameras that motion has been detected, making it easy to review past events.

Recorders use specially designed security grade hard drives or mircoSD cards and are engineered to automatically overwrite the oldest recordings with the newest.
